Term 4 is here. Yes that's right nearly another year down and how much fun we have had.
However things are not slowing down here at St Joey's. This coming Friday (15th Oct) we have a double celebration. Firstly we will be having a canonisation Mass for Mary MacKillop, which is taking place on Sunday 17th October, this will be supported by students (and staff) as they dress in period clothing for the day.
Friday evening will be the opening of the schools Artworx exhibition. This will have student, staff and professional artworks on display. Friday night is an adult opening for the exhibition with students asked to attend with their families on Saturday.
Gala Days - There will be two this term, 22nd October and 5th November (that's if the weather can hold out). Students will be participating in the same sports as last term. Students will be provided with more information as it comes to hand.
Peer Mediation and Students Council Selection - This term students will be informed of their selection as Peer Mediators for next year. In the coming weeks we will also begin discussions with students regarding the nomination, speeches etc for Student Council 2011.
It is a busy Term and I hope that we will be able to have an enjoyable, yet constructive time in the lead up to the Christmas break.

Coles Sports For Schools
ST Josephs will be involved in the Coles Sports for Schools program. For every $10 you spend, between Sept 2nd and Oct 31st, at Coles, Bi-LO or Pick 'n' Pay you recieve a voucher. These vouchers are to be taken to school and handed in the pouch. The school can then redeem the vouchers for Sport equipment. More information to follow.
Gala Day
The first Gala Day of the term was postponed last Friday due to wet weather. However it has been rescheduled for Friday 27th. Unfortunately we will not be attending the day as students and staff will be attending the Catholic Schools Zone Athletics. The second Gala Day of the term will be Friday 3rd September.

Welcome to Term 2
Welcome to Term 2.
We have a very busy term yet again. The grade 6 classes are working hard in their Australian and family heritage unit titled "Who are we, Really?". We are trialling the new History KLA of the Australian Curriculum. We have many district sporting trials this term and we are also conducting both our school Cross Country and Athletics carnivals.
We are continuing with our Gala Day sports from last term. We have our Gala Days on 7th May and 14th May. Information will be passed onto students as it comes in.
I hope to have another great term with 6A and look forward to working with the students to develop our understanding of who we are.

Swimming Carnival Success
Thank you to all those students who attended this years swimming carnival. It was great to see so much support for friends, classmates, houses and the school in general. Welll done to MacKillop house in winning this years carnival, their win came down to participation, not the number of wins which was very interesting.
Also a quick congratulations to those selected in the school team to compete at the District Carnival. well done everyone...
